TECHNICAL TOUR I - Lockheed Martin F-35 Tour
0730 - Bus Departs Worthington Hotel
Constructed in 1941 as Air Force Plant No. 4, the facility became known as the Bomber Plant producing the B-24 Liberator during World War II and later the immense B-36 Peacemaker and supersonic B-58 Hustler.  Fighter aircraft work replaced the bombers starting in the mid 1960s with the F-111, and now the plant features F-16 and F-35 development and production.  See the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter in final assembly.  In addition to a ride down the mile-long factory, this tour will focus on the test capabilities available at the headquarters of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company.
